Milling, turning, boring and drilling
Long-bed plano mills and large lathes for beds, columns, rams, rollers and frames that do not fit a standard machining centre.
Milling
Seven plano milling machines, DRO-fitted on the largest two, with one machine recently upgraded to 6000 × 3000 × 2500 mm and a universal-head Lagun mill for smaller precision work. Combined milling capacity up to 12,000 × 3,000 × 2,500 mm using the extension table.

Turning
A conventional vertical turning lathe for large rings, flanges and rollers, plus heavy centre lathes with a cut bed for Ø1,800 mm jobs.

VMC machining
Four VMCs with 4th axis and an ISO 40 angle head for horizontal attachment machining on the VMC. The SMV-built extension table takes jobs up to 11 metres long.

The double-column VMC is on order for our new plant at Mettupalayam, Coimbatore district, and will take over the largest bed and frame work from the plano mills.
CNC turning and horizontal attachment machining on VMC
Offered as machining services alongside the VMCs, so a job can move between conventional, VMC and CNC operations without leaving the shop.

16 T single block
Heavy jobs are moved by overhead crane inside the shop and by mobile crane in the yard, so a 10-tonne bed is handled routinely.
